The story of Timbermines Multi-Purpose Cooperative (TIMMULCO) started in 1995 with 41 founding members from LGU-Bayog of the Province of Zamboanga del Sur, mobilizing an initial capital of Four Thousand One Hundred (Php 4,100.00) Pesos. Its first enterprise was on consumer services backed with Capital Build-Up formation where later, it launched its savings and credit services.
In 2005, the area of operation was amended to reach-out the adjacent municipalities of Bayog of which it become an open-typed cooperative. TIMMULCO opened its door to non-LGU personnel, which brought out a remarkable impact particularly on the lives of the poor and marginalized sectors of our society.
Employing new business approach made TIMMULCO today to have multi-million total assets. With high sense of integrity, accountability and social responsibility, it serves the thousand members, mostly are poor farmers and micro-entrepreneurs in their Municipalities of Bayog, Lakewood, Tigbao and Kumalarang of the Province of Zamboanga del Sur and Municipalities of Buug, Diplahan, Siay, Malangas and Imelda of the Province of Zamboanga Sibugay.
Committed ti its goal to eradicate poverty among its members, TIMMULCO continues to advocate the holistic development of the people by providing financial capital, technical assistance, values formation and capability building activities.
The laudable achievements of this Coop is considered a breakthrough or milestones that successfully encouraged entrepreneurialism among thousands of members and contributed significantly to the economic growth.
